Suntory Museum

Suntory Museum is a cultural complex featuring a Gallery and an IMAX® Theater. Suntory Museum has a distinct architectural design. Suntory Museum was opened on November 3, 1994, as part of Suntory’s 90th anniversary commemorative project. The Suntory Museum is located in Tempozan Harbor Village, Osaka, Japan where Suntory began. The Suntory Museum is a cultural complex featuring a Gallery for exhibitions and an IMAX® Theater with a gigantic 3-D screen, Museum Shop, café, and lounge. Suntory Museum The Suntory Museum building features a unique architectural design with a drum in the shape of an inverted cone embracing a sphere and two rectangular parallelepipeds stretching outward to the sea. The Suntory Museum building was designed by Osaka’s own internationally-renowned architect Tadao Ando. The The Suntory Museum Gallery showcase arts and designs in “easy-to-understand and enjoyable” exhibitions, with a well-balanced collection of over 15,000 poster masterpieces by artists, such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Mucha, and Cassandre. The IMAX® Theater, another nucleus of this complex, has a 446 seat capacity and a 20 meter high and 28 meter wide 3-D screen. It is equipped with a 6-channel 15,000 watt digital sound system to bring a truly powerful realistic film presentation. Suntory Museum The Suntory Museum Shop offers original museum goods and other fashionable items; Café Solare and the Sky Lounge invites you for a peaceful break with a gorgeous sunset view of the bay. Suntory Museum also utilizes a solar-power system, as part of the 1993 field test project by the New Energy Development Organization (NEDO). |
